11/15/08 Same Sex Marriage Rally in Chicago

Today we attended a California Proposition 8 protest rally in front of the Federal Plaza Building. Rallies were coordinated across the nation against this act of legalizing discrimination.

22,000 married couples are now in legal limbo with their rights removed. Had we still lived in California this would be us.

Same sex marriage rights are civil rights. Religious blacks, Mormons, Orthodox Jews and the Christian right joined forces to help defeat Prop 8. Now it can be said these groups have their hate in common.

Clearly there will be struggle to claim this needed change. We invite all to examine their own views on what love means.

Tim and Brian
